Automating Percentage Increase of Invoices

In this guide we will cover:

- How to set a Percentage increase per recurring invoice 

- How to set a global RPI percentage 


Set a Global RPI percentage 

An RPI percentage increase can be set and automatically applied to all your recurring invoices to account for inflation over time. 


Under configuration > billing > recurring invoices, see 'Retail Prices Index (RPI) Percent Increase'. Here, you you can set the percentage in which your invoices will increase over time.

Once set all recurring invoices that have an automatic increase period set will increase by this percentage each increase period. 


This can be overridden for each invoice.

Against each recurring invoice you will see the section 'Automatic Increase'.

Here you can set the percent increase period, this is the period of time in which the cost of the invoice price increases. The time between the date of the last percent increase and the date of the next creation date will be calculated and the percent increase for this period of time will apply.


Under this you can set the percentage that the invoice will increase by. Setting this here will override the RPI percent increase. 


The percent increase can also be set per invoice line. 


Edit an invoice line and see the 'automatic increase' section. Here, you can again set the increase period and percentage.

You also have the option to 'Use RPI percent increase' for the line or 'exclude from percentage increase'.
